Interior Designer

Che Bella Interiors is looking for an interior designer to join our firm. We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, hard-working individual who excels at multi-tasking and being a team player. This position will work in both new construction and remodeling and work closely with our builders, subcontractors, and clients on implementing interior design projects. This will include exterior and interior selections for new construction as well as space planning, furniture specifications, material selections, lighting and cabinetry design, and presentations to clients and builders. Degree in construction management and/or interior design is a must as well as previous sales experience.

Primary Job Functions:
Interior Designers work directly with clients to interpret, organize, and execute a conceptual design. They use creativity, foresight, sales techniques and professional judgment to meet project requirements and carry out design completion. The Interior Designer will be in charge of meeting with subcontractors, coordinating trade partner bids and presenting pricing/material options to clients. They are responsible for implementing strategic plans for assisting in bringing new leads to the company and meeting/exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals. Reports to Principal and/or Lead Designer.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with potential clients to determine client needs, draft Letter of Agreements and transform leads into project opportunities through proactive sales follow up measures.
  • Conduct programming efforts with client’s projects such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination.
  • Develop innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetically stunning, and profitable.
  • Define design’s purpose and function that is reflective of client goals and within project budget.
  • Coordinate color and material palettes.
  • Ability to design, specify and oversee various installations including cabinetry, tile, lighting, soft and hard window coverings, etc.
  • Has experience in creating cabinet layouts and elevations with various details.
  • Responsible for selection and specification of furniture, lighting, flooring, wall covering, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Estimates material requirements and preliminary costs.
  • Render conceptual design ideas and prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
  • Generate new leads and business opportunities independently.
  • Prepare and conduct initial consultations, on site reviews, and client LOA presentations independently.
  • Prepare and update documents during schematic design and design development phases.
  • Solicit construction bids and manages client’s project by subcontracting fabrication, overseeing installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings required.
  • Responsible for keeping the project in budget and on schedule.
  • Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.
  • Attend public events as a professional representative of the organization as directed.
  • Provide support to all team members for specific field, style, or phase of interior design expertise.
  • Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
  • Seek out professional development for themselves and the design firm.

Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch-up & Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of design trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Knowledgeable of environmentally responsible products (LEED certification a bonus)
  • Possess creative talent in conceptual design and rendering
  • Advanced knowledge of all building products: plumbing fixtures, equipment, architectural/interior finishes, lighting, and color schemes to carryout design intent.
  • Advanced knowledge of general building regulations and safety codes.
  • Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, generate leads, exceed sales goals and provide high quality service to clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent work ethic, positive demeanor and “do-what-it-takes” attitude
  • High level of detail orientation with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Self-starter and team player

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a design firm or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Interior Design and/or Construction Management (will accept a two year degree in some circumstances)
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and approach with demonstrated strong design sales experience, customer service, communication and organizational skills.
  • Retail and/or hospitality experience is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and own transportation
  • NCIDQ Certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year

Senior Interior Designer

Che Bella Interiors is looking for a senior/lead interior designer to join our firm. We are looking for an engaging, creative, experienced individual who excels at multi-tasking and being a team player. This position will work directly with clients to interpret, organize, and execute conceptual designs. Lead designers will use creativity, foresight, sales techniques and professional judgment to meet project requirements and carry out design completion. The Senior Interior Designer will be in charge of meeting with subcontractors, coordinating trade partner bids and presenting pricing/material options to clients. They are responsible for implementing strategic plans for bringing new leads to the company and meeting/exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals. They are a mentor/supervisor to other members of the design staff and help drive all sales and marketing efforts. A degree in construction management and/or interior design is a must as well as 5+ years of experience in a design firm or related field.
