Designer Favorites: Holiday Decorating Tips
Happy Holidays!
With the end of December just around the corner, it’s time to begin celebrating but what is a celebration without festive decor to inspire and delight?
It won’t come as a surprise to learn that our team at Che Bella adores decorating for the holiday season. From setting up the tree to creating beautiful tablescapes, keep reading to find some decorating tips we use to bring joy to our world during the holidays!
Tracy is a fan of using greenery and string lights throughout the inside and outside of her home. “I love having pots and greenery on the front porch complemented by some vintage-looking lights running along my roofline. Inside the home, I dress up the mantels, stair railings, and tables with greenery which brings that sense of nature we yearn for during the winter.” Her tip for keeping your greenery fresh? Treat your greenery with an Anti-Desiccant Spray before assembling it. Organic and biodegradable, anti-desiccant spray provides a protective waxy coating to the needles or leaves of evergreens to slow the process of water loss.
Calie is all about keeping things cozy during the holidays. Her tip is to use white Christmas lights and candles around the house, which brings a sense of warmth to your interior all winter long. Her other tried and true classic way to keep the coziness going? Hang some stockings on your mantel. Whether you fill them with presents or not, they’ll be a gift that gives a warm fuzzy feeling every time you enter the room.
Stefanie also loves using greenery. Starting with the outside of her home, Stefanie considers a Christmas wreath on the front door an absolute must, and keeping with the theme of nature, on the inside she likes to create tablescapes with wax candles and garland. Her tip? Don’t forget to play with height when creating your tablescapes. A variety of heights is appealing to the eye and adds a whole new dimension to your decorations!
When it comes to decorating for the holidays, Stephanie’s favorite design tip is to use a central color scheme throughout your home and holiday decor. Doing so creates a cohesive flow, lending a sense of calm to your decor, rather than overwhelming your home with multiple bright colors. Her favorite color combos include softer color tones paired with gold and silver for a softer elegant look!
Ed is a classic kind of guy and so, for the holidays, he recommends ditching the fake tree for a fresh pine tree and, of course, lights to decorate the exterior of your home. His tip? Use holiday light clips for nice straight lines that lend a professional look.
