The Big Relax
Prior Lake, MN — Four Season Home Addition
The owners of this picturesque, waterfront home wanted to re-imagine their deck so they could continue to relax and enjoy the outdoor space while getting a reprieve from the direct afternoon sun. The original project scope called for a three-season porch, but we were able to create a year-round space with a stunning wall of windows that showcases their gorgeous backyard views. The yard is still easily accessible via an existing set of stairs located nearby.
The dramatic vaulted ceiling was designed to maximize natural light and maintain the flow into the existing living area. The extra height allowed for nearly floor-to-ceiling windows, blurring the line between the indoors and out to create a cozy nature-inspired oasis. Screens were added to bring in the fresh air and custom Hunter Douglas blinds were installed to provide both shade and privacy.

The Day Brightener
Prior Lake, MN — Home Addition and Kitchen Remodel
Our clients were looking to refresh their main level living area by creating a dream-come-true porch that provides easy access to the deck, a reprieve from mosquitos and inspiring views of nature, and updating their dark and dated kitchen. While the project involved both a new porch addition and a remodel of the existing kitchen, the design needed to blend both spaces to achieve a cohesive look and feel.
The inviting new porch addition features a stunning angled vault ceiling and walls of oversize windows that frame the picture-perfect backyard views. The porch is infused with light thanks to the statement light fixture and bright-white wooden beams that reflect the natural light.
In perfect complement to the porch, the kitchen is now a bright and airy space, anchored by light Cambria quartz countertops, a re-faced fireplace in a soft herringbone-pattern tile and new furniture in neutral fabrications. To enhance function and open up the kitchen, we cut down the old, two-tiered island to one level, creating a beautiful contrast against the freshly painted white perimeter cabinets.

The Fireside
Savage, MN — Home Addition
These suburban homeowners wanted to create an extension of their main level living area that would draw in the beauty of all four seasons and provide a technology-free gathering space for their busy family.
The cozy, four-season porch addition is the perfect place to curl up and keep warm next to the new stone gas fireplace that extends from floor to ceiling. Three walls of tall sliding windows invite in seasonal breezes and maximize the natural light that is reflected by the white beam ceiling. With an eye toward efficient design, the porch was placed over the client’s existing decking and deck footprint and features a shed roof detail that accommodates the existing second-level windows.
