Friday Favorites: Lighting as Artwork
If you are looking to revamp a space, changing out an existing light fixture or adding a light fixture to the space may be the perfect change. Lighting is often overlooked in a space because people may only think of it for its function. Lighting should be always be functional first, but should also be a huge part of the design story. Here are a few favorite styles of fixtures and examples of how they transform a space. Once you see the drama and story of each room below it’s hard to imagine the room with a minimal or basic light fixture.
Sconces are great for hallways as an alternative or in addition to overhead lighting. They can add character to a space and still be functional.
Adding a table or floor lamp with interesting shapes or colors can add a lot to a space to make it feel more complete. Not only are they a good decorative piece but they also very functional.
