Good interior designers are very skilled in creating an overall style that is a blend of opposing tastes and preferences of homeowners and family members. But let’s face it, we’ve all seen the scenario where in some fashion, the woman’s perspective wins out over her male counter-point’s opinion. In honor of Father’s Day coming up on June 16th, I jumped on Houzz to pull together some good inspiration for masculine design that is done in a tasteful fashion. Cheers to the special men in our lives who probably don’t quite share the same passion for design that we do. And no purple or floral patterns, I promise!

Choosing a non traditional felt color in this steel blue for the pool table is the perfect way to ground the largest, heaviest piece in the room into the overall design of the space. Using vintage sports memorabilia as artwork adds to the relaxed and ‘lived-in’ feel in the room.
Pieces like the tufted sofa with rolled arms and the large mirrored coffee table bring a softer balance to the more masculine pieces of the animal rug and dark leather ottomans. The neutral color palette of cream, brown, and tan is understated but still inviting.
