This year, you’re bound to see multiple textile patterns being mixed within rugs, drapery, lighting, furniture, and bedding. If mixing patterns isn’t quite your style, you may be drawn to the next trend Steph sees coming around the corner – incorporating romantic silhouettes into a room. “I’m beginning to see minimalistic but cozy aesthetics with curved lines take hold,” observes Steph. Soft textures in furniture and lighting, combined with natural materials and neutral palettes, as shown in our Eden Prairie, MN Tailored Boho project, continue to gain steam. She cautions that using this design approach may leave you feeling more relaxed and at ease!
Discreet Home Technologies
Smart home devices continue to advance and be integrated into home design at an increasing rate. Steph comments, “Technology delivers creature comforts and convenience in one fell swoop in our homes, making a big impact in our day-to-day quality of life.” In the upcoming year, homeowners can expect to see home control systems incorporated into new builds and remodels. These systems work in the background to help operate the home. From lighting to electronics, security systems and climate, these systems help to run the home in a seamless fashion.
Wellness Trends
The trend toward wellness-inspired design brings a little Zen to the conversation. Steph details, “Sensory design, which creates an experience that engages multiple senses at once, is on the rise, as is the continued focus on spa-like retreat spaces.” Our Eden Prairie, MN Sanctuary Bathroom project showcases this trend with clean, simple lines throughout, giving this bath a spa-inspired feel.” Homeowners will see sustainable and eco-friendly materials continue to dovetail with the wellness trend in the upcoming year.
