Where to Start?
Understanding the Remodel Process
Oh where to begin with a home improvement project! Taking the first step is often the toughest one – deciding to pull the trigger. From there, we guarantee it will get easier once you know the steps involved in the process. When discussing what to expect when you’re considering a home remodel, Che Bella Interiors Founder and CEO, Tracy Hains, comments, “understanding the steps in Che Bella’s process is crucial. We do everything we can to educate our clients about the remodel process, discussing the timeline involved and the critical steps along the way. Clearly setting expectations around schedules and timelines is a major determining factor in client satisfaction.” Our process flows as follows:
- Initial consultation meetings are the time where you share your vision for the space. Project scope, budget and timelines are discussed, and we provide detail on the Che Bella remodeling or interior design process and associated payment structure.
- During the design concept phase, dreaming and details converge as your space is measured and photographed. We seek your input on flow, finishes, materials, furnishings, fabrics, lighting and more. The preliminary vision is discussed so that we’re all on the same page before we move forward.
- Design development with materials and product selections comes next, and the scope of work is created. Planning is in high gear as we gather final estimates from suppliers and our trade partners.
Implementation begins as all the details and planning come to life! We create an overall schedule/timeline for the implementation of your project. We coordinate and work closely with each trade partner and are available to answer any and all questions as the remodeling phase unfolds.
Using a Licensed Home Remodeler
We’re often asked why we feel so strongly that homeowners should partner with a licensed professional for their home remodeling needs. While we acknowledge that there are many many things around the home that homeowners can tackle themselves, when it comes to an involved remodel, it’s best to turn to a skilled and trained professional. Not only does working with a professional give you access to the latest materials and trends, but it also gives you peace of mind that the work done in your home will hold up for decades.
In the case of Che Bella, we set ourselves apart by leaning into The Che Bella Difference, providing a high level of personalized service and unmatched quality. The tradespeople with whom we work also share our affinity for high standards and excellent craftsmanship.
Before and After Inspiration
When you get to the point where you want a change in your home, how do you define your style and determine the required functionality of the space? For starters, Tracy encourages her clients to ‘do their homework,’ researching and identifying examples of styles they are drawn to and understand if these elements are workable with their budget. As a next step, we’ve included images of several ‘before and after’ spaces below to help you refine your direction. See our complete project portfolio for further inspiration.

The Big Relax Home Addition
The dramatic vaulted ceiling of this delicious Prior Lake, MN home addition was designed to maximize natural light and maintain the flow into the existing living area. The extra height allowed for nearly floor-to-ceiling windows, blurring the line between the indoors and out to create a cozy nature-inspired oasis.
