Holiday Decorating Style Guide, Part I – Rustic Chic

Happy Black Friday! As the “official” start of the holiday season, we know many of you will be decorating your homes this weekend for the upcoming holiday season.  How do you make sure that your holiday decorating style matches the style of your home?  Today will be the first in our holiday decorating style guide.  We hope to give you some ideas to use a jumping off point & ensure that your decor is consistent throughout your home, even during the holidays.

Rustic chic holiday decorating styles

Elements to incorporate: wood, twine, acorns, pinecones, greenery, glass cloches, mercury glass, chalkboard

Color Scheme: Utilize various neutrals – beiges + browns or grey + charcoals or cream + black.  Incorporate pops of metallic along with accents of traditional reds and greens.

Fabrics: Think textures – linen, burlap, flannel, wool.  Classic patterns like ticking stripes & plaids in neural tones would fit well, too.
